Mycosts.co.uk help

What is this site?
This site allows you to track the cost of your energy & vehicle usage in the UK. You can record your meter readings and see the cost that usage woud be on many popular energy supplier tariffs in the UK at present. You can also add your own tariffs if you cannot find an appropriate one.
You can also enter the costs of running your vehicle(s), including maintenance and fuel costs. This information then allows you to see the overall running cost.

What is this site's address and why does it change?
The address to remember is www.mycosts.co.uk, although this may appear as www.qwindow.com/mycosts as soon as you display the page on your computer. www.mycosts.co.uk is actually a part of the qwindow system and supported by its developers. It is hosted on the internet by qwindow.

Do I need to register as a user?
Registration is not essential. You can use the site as an unregistered user but the functions you have available will be limited. In order to enter your own readings and see the associated costs, you should be a registered user. You are not asked for any confidential information when you register, just an email address although even that is optional. Similarly, you do not input any confidential data as a registered user. The most you will provide is the readings from your own meters - information which is of little use to anyone else! We give an assurance that we will not pass on any user email addresses we may have to any other party. Similarly, we assure you that we will not send messages not pertaining directly to our site to any of the email addresses we may have.

Can other users see my data entries?
No. One registered user cannot see the data entered by another user.

Why do I need JavaScript enabled?
This site makes considerable use of JavaScript. This allows web pages to run functions that provide some user interaction and without it there would be severe limits. JavaScript is executed by your Internet Browser, so it is not something we have control over. Because there are quite a few different internet browsers around, we cannot easily provide instructions for enabling JavaScript support but the browser help should be able to tell you what to do. Without it, you will not be able to get past the login page.
